ABOUT OUR PASTOR
Aondo Terhemen Jonto (born January 15, 1977)popularly known as Jonto is a Nigerian Pastor. He is the founder and senior pastor of Strong Fortress Christian Church, an impactful evangelical church in Lagos, Nigeria. He is known for his simplicity and deeds of love.
Jonto holds conservative theological views and traditional evangelical views on social issues such as abortion, same-sex marriage, abstinence-only education over the use of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS.
Jonto believes in the liberation of Christians from every bondage of the law including giving to God. He does not share in the belief that Christians are under any law to serve or give else be punished. His believe is in accordance with the word of God as written in Romans 3:20 that “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin”.
Religious background
Jonto is a native of Anar-Ananum, Donga Local Government of Taraba State. The son of Aondoakaa and Mbalamen Jonto. His father and mother are all communicant members of the NKST Church also known as Universal Reformed Christian Church of Nigeria (URCCN)with the headquarters at Mkar Benue State. His Father Aondoakaa Jonto was also the founder of the NKST Church at Tse Anar in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State where he later became an evangelist under the late Rev P.I. Damisa.
Education life
Jonto received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State in 2003. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Theology from Kingdom Life Leadership College of Ministries Awoyaya , Lagos, which is an Affiliate to Evangel Christian University of America, Monroe, Louisiana, USA in 2015. He also holds several certifications of Leadership and Quality/Environmental Management systems trainings.
Personal
Jonto has been married to Comfort Mngusuun Jonto since February24, 1995. They have two adult children Sydney Civirnen Jonto and Naomi Doowuese Jonto.
He defines wealth as a large amount of money or valuable possessions that someone has to share.
Call to Ministry
Jonto heard his call into ministry at a tender age. This was evident in his early condemnation of evil acts both in his community and the church and also the laying of hands which earned him a title of chief at that time. One of his uncles who acknowledged this call was termed an unserious human being. This was because his uncle’s excuse for not going to church was that he will wait for the ministry to be founded by Jonto before he will start going to church. Thank God today that uncle is still alive and a dream of over thirty years is birthed. This call was made very clear in 2006 but not without hindrances and obstacles. This dream finally became a reality on the 4th March,2018 when STRONG FORTRESS CHRISTIAN CHURCH had the first service.
Career and Business
Jonto is a Senior Quality Assurance and Quality Controls Engineer with an indigenous EPCM company where he is also holding positions in the unions both at the Branch and Group levels. He is also the CEO/MD of Triter Brothers Nigeria Limited which is an agro based company.
